Sensory Dialogues: Touch Drawing

Drawing touch is an ongoing investigation into documenting what is felt, or embodied. This collection of drawings were made during one on one performances, and also in a series of workshops. The aim is to make a drawing of another person's face blindfolded or with eyes closed using only the sense of touch, while simultaneously drawing with the other hand. The process of drawing is a translation and interpretation of something which is felt by the person who is drawing, and the resulting drawings are the remnant of an encounter that is intimate, physical and exploratory. They are maps of of faces: the contours and edges, but also something more human, more internal that cannot be seen. They are maps of the experience and the interaction, literally of the space between us and the point where we connect.
